Brett Favre

If Brett Favre felt pressured by the Green Bay Packers to make a decision that he wasn’t ready to make, why did he choose the retirement path? If he would have just said “I’m coming back,” and then deciding a few months later that he was going to retire would be a lot more acceptable to everyone involved. At least more than the current situation he finds himself in.

What do the Packers do? I think they have to bring him back—at least bring him into camp and compete for the job with Aaron Rodgers. A competition Favre clearly would win. You don’t want to trade him to an NFC team and you don’t want to deal him to a team that’s on your schedule.

I hear a lot of people saying that they should bring him back and make him the back-up. That’s just purely idiotic. Until he proves he’s a back-up, he’s still one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Even the worst GMs and front office management teams aren’t that dumb.
