iPod Play Count

I don’t know why, but I get a kick out of looking at how many times I’ve listened to songs on my iPod. I also like to see how much music I haven’t listened to since I started consuming my tunes through this wonderful device.

This goes back to March 2006 when I got my most recent iPod. Here’s a few meaningless Dave Klonke iPod facts:

  • Number one played song: I Love This Bar (Sammy Hagar version). 42 times
  • Top six played songs are all Sammy Hagar songs and all from his album “Livin’ It Up.” You could say I like the album.
  • Of the 4,427 songs on the machine, I’ve listened to 3,390 of them at least once.
  • About a year ago I tried randomly listening to every song on my iPod. I ended the game at about 500. There was some new music I wanted to buy and it apparently couldn’t wait.
  • Some music I haven’t listened to through iPod earbuds includes: a lot of Barenaked Ladies which I used to love. I outgrew their tunes before iTunes came around, I guess. I was really into a lot of Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Dean Marting in the mid-90s—of course, before iPods.

Sorry to bore you with these facts, but I think I’m going to go on a random play spree again and see what happens. I remember it was a lot of fun not knowing what would pop up. Hearing a laid back Jimmy Buffett tune after a loud Metallica song was also a mood swinger. I’ll let you know how it goes.
