I think it’s interesting that an exciting and unique event like this is generating absolutely no buzz in a city that is so desperate for some positive attention. I saw this and thought “this is awesome!”
But where is the PR and promotion??? I go to the site and you can tell that the backgrounder on Detroit was written by someone who’s not at all familiar with the Motor City. (Read it, it’s pretty obvious).
What’s worse is, I go to the visitdetroit.com website that is linked on the Detroit info page and there is no mention of this air race. The city drops the ball more than Carlos Guillen at firstbase.
I have no idea how we got it, but Detroit is one of the cities hosting the Red Bull Air Races in 2008. I have been watching them on TV for a few years, and I have been dying to see a race live. If you live in any of the following cities, I suggest you go!
