Speaking of motorcycle diaries, I recently watched the entire Long Way Round series that covered Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman’s motorcycle journey from London to New York—the long way round. It was definitely worth watching whether you ride or not. One hundred and fifteen days through 12 countries and a great majority of the ride was on unpaved roads. It’s the best thing I’ve ever seen come out of the world of reality television. It’s too bad it was never on network television. I rented it from Netflix.

They also did a follow up to LWR called Long Way Down—a journey from the northern part of Scotland down through Europe to the southern-most tip of South Africa. I’m waiting for that to come out on DVD.
