Grand Cayman Table Hockey Tournament
Just got back from a 5-day vacation and visit with friends in Grand Cayman. My buddy, Nic, and I are two of the best table hockey players ever. (We’ve been playing since we were 4 and 5) I’m not exaggerating. It’s true. Anyway, we played about four informal scrimmages and it felt good to drop the puck again. I started off really rusty, but the last few games were really tight. I’d give the edge to Nic by a goal or two.
Damn, I wish I had a picture of us playing. Next time.
You’re probably thinking, you went to Grand Cayman and played table hockey? Of course that’s not all we did. The weather was gorgeous and it was a perfect trip.
Here are a couple of interesting tidbits about Grand Cayman:
- There are several Canadians living on the island. You will certainly see “GO SENS” and “GO LEAFS” license plates if you’re paying attention.
- They have Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday nights. Nice warm nights, take a dip in the pool and come in and watch hockey. Truly the best of both worlds.
- All the people I met and came in contact with were very nice.
- You can hardly tell the island was devastated by Hurricane Ivan in 2004.
I’ll post some pictures later.
