Just got back from an interesting trip around the block. Went to the bank to make some deposits and decided to stop at Starbucks. I wanted to spike my third dose of dayquil with some caffeine to help wake me up a bit.

Anyway, I order my venti coffee and the guy (or more appropriately, the barista) said it will be about five minutes as a new pot is brewing. I handed him my money and he just waved it off quietly like a Jedi doing a mind trick.

Wow, that was nice. A free coffee. Maybe they’re adopting the old Domino’s Pizza strategy of 20 minutes or it’s free. Anyway, that was a nice surprise.

While I waited those five minutes, I figured I’d check to see where Starbuck’s stock was today—it’s up 34 cents. Cool—a win-win for this customer and the coffee giant. I also checked out the new Jack Johnson CD. It says on the back that it was produced with 100% solar energy. Is that what they now call playing acoustic guitar on the beaches of Hawaii???

The Dayquil is working…and so is the free coffee.
