Have you heard this before? It seems like every other place I go has some promotion like this when the cashier hands you your receipt. Does anyone actually go and do this?

I can’t wait until a cashier tells me, “I’ve entered you in to win $5000. Thank you. Have a great day!”

Now, I understand that that doesn’t get any surveys completed, but are they really collecting any substantial data with those surveys?
