FedEx, DHL and UPS...listen up!!
Now that Delta Airlines has doubled its second bag charge to $50, which one of you is going to go after the “ship-your-luggage-to-the-destination” market???? Is there something I’m missing here? It seems like a huge opportunity.

The 1984 San Diego Padres
With yesterday’s Hall of Fame induction of Goose Gossage and former Padre manager, Dick Williams, there are now three members of the 1984 Padres in the Hall. The third was last year’s inductee, Tony Gwynn. The only member of the Tigers in the Hall? Sparky Anderson. Still no Jack Morris or Alan Trammell.

Great idea, but...
Check out Mark Cuban’s post on how to jumpstart the economy. It’s unfortunate when a solid idea like this has little chance of getting anywhere because the local and federal government and the politicians who make it up have absolutely no business sense. Maybe I should be a little more optimistic on a Monday morning.

WDIV: another example of why TV news is a complete...
It’s absolutely comical. I’m sitting here watching WDIV’s morning newscast and pretty much laughing hysterically at the sad state of the mainstream media. They’re reporting the “breaking news” of Ford’s second quarter losses and appearing like a first-time circus act performing in the dark. First they go to their business reporter, Rod Meloni, who is...

Idiots →
Check out this post by Eric Karjaluoto over at ideasonideas. Very well written and a dead-on view and example of today’s public relations industry. Here’s the comment I made to the post: A good friend of mine recently shared a quote with me: “People get into PR because they’re allergic to work.” That pretty well summed up my experiences with the industry. Your...

Traffic deaths fall as gas prices climb →
(From MSNBC) So does this mean that 9% of driving-related deaths are a result of unnecessary driving? Interesting, and as the study shows, the numbers keep falling in recent months. Here’s the flip-side…I wonder how much motorcycle deaths have increased with more people opting for the 45 mpg alternative. I’m not sure I want to see that stat.

Inconsistent Hitters
The Tigers scored 19 runs for the third time this season. Too many hit or miss games. For every game they rack up 10 or more runs there’s a game they get shut out or held to a run. That explains why they’re only one game over .500. But, they’re only 5.5 back of the Chisox. Posted with LifeCast

Batman
I have never heard so much praise for any movie quite like what I’m hearing about Batman. It’s pretty remarkable, actually. It seems there’s always a movie critic out there that wants to bash something great or praise something shitty just to get his/her name out there and go against the grind. So far, I haven’t found this with The Dark Knight. I rarely go and see movies,...

The Shark
I’m pulling for the 53-year-old Greg Norman today at the British Open. Before there was Tiger, there were great golfers like Norman and Nick Faldo. In some respects that seems like yesterday and in others it seems like an eternity.

A new look
I really got tired of how my original tumblr theme presented my posts with different headline type depending on whether it was a feed from SOZO | Pivotal’s Does Your Business blog, a photo caption or just a plain post. It’s probably my fault. My web coding knowledge reached its peak in 2001. So this morning I went searching for a new theme created by someone who knows what...

Brett Favre
If Brett Favre felt pressured by the Green Bay Packers to make a decision that he wasn’t ready to make, why did he choose the retirement path? If he would have just said “I’m coming back,” and then deciding a few months later that he was going to retire would be a lot more acceptable to everyone involved. At least more than the current situation he finds himself in. What...
